We are ALL
More Than Conquerors
in Christ.
THE FOUNDERS
I was born to run. Not actual running, mind you--I hate that--but playing, wandering, dancing and doing. I got my degree in Psychology at Indiana University back in 2010. After that I worked as a Preschool Teacher (so I could play and call it work) in beautiful Bloomington, IN.
I then felt a call to ministry and worked for IMAGINE IF, Inc. for 4 years. There I fell in love with showing kids their incredible worth and teaching them of the love of Christ. I especially have a heart for young ladies and started a small group called Weird Wonderful Women. My passion for youth ministry (and dodgeball) led me to this adventure of More Than Conquerors.
My heart for people is what aligned me with the Director of Community Engagement position, where I have the chance to connect further with families and young adults. My goal is to show people how fun and adventurous the life of a believer can be and to shed the archetypes of what "religion" looks like. I wholeheartedly believe "adults" should never stop playing, wandering and dancing. I enjoy canoeing, playing volleyball, drawing, Taco Tuesdays, and live music. My dream is to travel the world.
My life verse, oddly enough, is Romans 8:37,
"No, in all these things we are more than
conquerors through Him who loved us."
I believe we all have unique hurts that Christ alone can redeem. He makes beauty from those ashes and uses your pain to help others and bring you into your life calling. To conquer the plans the devil had for bad and make them for good. He is truly an incredible Father and I want to show others how to accept this beautiful transformation for their own lives.
I, AKA Esta Fiesta - probably because of my love of celebrating life and all it entails! - am a hopeless romantic who is always dreaming and imagining the many possibilities and courses any single decision or event can take. I find it incredibly difficult to give my mind a rest. I really enjoy traveling and adventuring, live music of all kinds, reading, playing volleyball & tennis, photography, creating & crafting, playing with my puppy, being outside (especially near some larger body of water), and anything that makes me smile and laugh. I'm always up for an adventure!
I tried my hand at pursuing the corporate and "normal" career path in life during and after graduating from Purdue University in 2012 with B.S. in Management with a concentration in Marketing and minor in Communications. I dabbled in sales, wine importing, entertainment booking, accounting/bookkeeping, restaurant work... I tried really hard to make my own way in the world. God had a different calling for me though, and when I finally turned toward Him and trusted His path for my life, I found my way. I entered into ministry through volunteering then working for IMAGINE IF, INC. for 3 years, and now I can't imagine doing anything else than what God's called me to. The next venture on that Divine path is More Than Conquerors, and I am beyond excited for what new thing God is doing!
There are so many verses that continue to uplift, encourage, and guide me on my journey. One of the constant rays of light comes from Jeremiah 29:11,
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord,
"plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future."
I cling to this promise for myself and for others that God brings into my life. I rest on the truth that God never breaks His promises!
I am a born adventure-preneur. From being a zip-line guide to ice cream scooper, you name a job-I've probably had it.
After graduating with a degree in business from Anderson University, I taught English to high schoolers for a year in rural China where I picked up just enough Chinese to survive. I later came back to the western hemisphere and worked on communications and web design as an AmeriCorp VISTA.
God led me to MTC to be Treasurer/Design & Admin Director.
I get to keep the operating side of MTC going, design stuff, and play dodgeball almost every day.
One of my many favorite bible verses is:
And the angel of God said
“The Lord is with you, mighty warrior!”
Judges 6:12
At MTC we recognize everyone has battles, everyone's a warrior, and the Lord is with us and wants to fight for us all!
