We are More Than Conquerors!

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

--Isaiah 43:19

Who We Are

No, in all these things are are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

--Romans 8:37

At More Than Conquerors we are providing safe places to empower generations. We aim to connect individuals to God through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, fight alongside them in the battles of their lives, and connect them to one another and to other relationships and resources in the community.

Meet The Team

God led Katie, Esta, and Caitlin together in the Fall of 2015 with the same vision in each of their hearts. Within that combined vision, He then gave each of them special roles. Together, they make a silly, cohesive, never-dull group!

Caitlin Evans

[Director of Administration & Design/Assistant Program Leader - Board Treasurer]

Caitlin Evans is a born adventure-prenuer. From being a zip-line guide to ice cream scooper to llama trainer,

you name a job - she's probably had it. After graduating with a degree in business from Anderson University, she jumped the Pacific and taught English to high schoolers for a year in rural China where she learned how to be a pro at charades. She then came back to the western hemisphere and worked on communications and web design as an AmeriCorp VISTA. As Design & Admin Director/Assistant Program Leader, Caitlin serves God's Kingdom by keeping the operating side of MTC going, helping keep MTC beautiful by design, and helping out with running the ministries.

One favorite Bible verse of Caitlin's is: And the angel of God said "The Lord is with you, mighty warrior!" -- Judges 6:12 -- She says, "At MTC we recognize everyone has battles, everyone's a warrior, and the Lord is with us and wants to fight for us all."

Katie Torrence

[Director of Community Engagement/Program Leader - Board Vice President/Secretary]

Katie Torrence was born to run. Not actual running, mind you -- she hates that -- but playing, wandering,

dancing, and doing. She got her degree in psychology at Indiana University back in 2010. After that, she worked as a Preschool Teacher (so she could play and call it work) inbeautiful Bloomington, IN. She then felt a call to ministry and worked for IMAGINE IF, INC. for 4 years. There she fell in love with showing kids their incredible worth and teaching them of the love of Christ. She especially has a heart for young ladies and started a small group called Weird Wonderful Women. Her passion for youth ministry (and dodgeball) led her to this adventure of More Than Conquerors. Her heart for people is what aligned her with the position of Director of Community Engagement, where she has the chance to connect further with families and young adults. Her goal is to show people how fun and adventurous the life of a believer can be and to shed the archetypes of what "religion" looks like. She wholeheartedly believes "adults" should never stop playing, wandering, and dancing. She enjoys canoeing, playing volleyball, drawing, Taco Tuesdays, and live music. Her dream is to travel the world.

Katie's life verse, oddly enough, is Romans 8:37, "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us." She believes we all have unique hurts that Christ alone can redeem. He makes beauty from those ashes and uses your pain to help others and bring you into your life calling. To conquer the plans the devil had for bad and make them for good. He is truly an incredible Father, and Katie wants to show others how to accept this beautiful transformation for their own lives.

Esta Henderson

[Director of Development & Marketing/Program Leader - Board President]

Esta AKA Esta Fiesta - probably because of her love of celebrating life and all it entails! - is a hopeless romantic who is always dreaming and imagining the many possibilities and courses any single decision or event can take. She finds it incredibly difficult to give her mind a rest. She really enjoys traveling and adventuring, live music of all kinds, reading, playing volleyball & tennis, photography, creating & crafting, playing with her puppy, being outside (especially near some larger body of water), and anything that makes her smile and laugh. She's always up for an adventure!

Esta tried her hand at pursuing the corporate and "normal" career path in life during and after graduating from Purdue University in 2012 with B.S. in Management with a concentration in Marketing and minor in Communications. She dabbled in sales, wine importing, entertainment booking, accounting/bookkeeping, restaurant work... she tried really hard to make her own way in the world. God had a different calling for her though, and when she finally turned toward Him and trusted His path for her life, she found her way. Esta entered into ministry through volunteering then working for IMAGINE IF, INC. for 3 years, and now she can't imagine doing anything else than what God's called her to. The next venture on that Divine path is More Than Conquerors, and she is beyond excited for what new thing God is doing!

There are so many verses that continue to uplift, encourage, and guide Esta on her journey. One of the constant rays of light comes from Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." She clings to this promise for herself and for others that God brings into her life. She rests on the truth that God never breaks His promises!

Our Vision

At More Than Conquerors we are providing safe places to empower generations. We aim to connect individuals to God through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, fight alongside them in the battles of their lives, and connect them to one another and to other relationships and resources in the community. We have a 3 part vision for impacting our community -- Youth, Family, Young Adults. We strive to instill in them the confidence and hope that can only come through faith in the Savior Jesus Christ.

We are responding to a call to adorn generations of warriors in the armor of God. We are called to speak love into these lives and meet these warriors where they are on their battlefields. We will do this by continually providing opportunities for spiritual, familial, and community growth through actively reaching out to individuals and groups and connecting them to resources and each other. We will help to build the bond of the kinship that Jesus Christ loves and teaches us.

We strive to provide safe places where people are able to be honest and transparent without judgement. We aim to meet individuals where they are in their lives and walk alongside of them in their faith. We strive to instill in them the confidence and hope that can only come through faith in the Savior. We pray, guide, and answer God’s calling to assist our fellow warriors so that we may all be of one in the Kingdom of God. We are More Than Conquerors in Christ.
