Farewell 2017🔹Thank You!
Dear Friends,
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts here at More Than Conquerors for your generous support and continued love in 2017. We have had an incredible year, and that is all thanks to God and you! Your support, prayer, participation, and love mean the world to us. It has been a true joy to serve our community in 2017.
This past year we led our free after-school program for all 4th-8th grade students in South Madison schools, and we saw an increase in male students attending our program. This offered a new challenge with being an all-female staff. However, God showed up big as He always does! We have had many men volunteers and guest speakers stepping up to pour into the lives of these young men, as well (pictured below). We were even able to incorporate Man Week into our semester, allowing the opportunity for iron to sharpen iron.
At More Than Conquerors after-school, we have a segment called Conqueror of the Week. One kid is prayerfully chosen to be in the spotlight one day that week. He/she then gets to tell us about themselves, the other kids and leaders get to ask all kinds of
questions, and we all get to shower compliments on him/her of what we like about our Conqueror of the Week. We also always lay hands on him/her and pray. We had a 5th grade boy named Landon (pictured right) as our Conqueror of the Week one week. He is a goofball and a very wise-beyond-his-years kind of kid. As we prayed over him and his future, another 5th grade boy named Garrett followed the Holy Spirit leading him to pray for Landon’s future. He prayed, “I pray that he will be a pastor, and he will continue on God's path to glory.” Wow! Such powerful Spirit-driven words from the mouth of our youth. What an honor to be blessed with the opportunity to teach them and watch them grow!
Along with our free after-school program at the schools, we have also had the opportunity to serve our community in other exciting ways this past year. We have brought several Family Fun Nights with free dinner and entertainment to bring the families together for stress-free time together. We love getting to know our MTC families better and make memories together. In partnership with The Stable in town, we have brought prayer and clean fun to our local bar through Trivia Nights. This has proven to be a blessing for both organizations along with the people who attend. Our other major outreach we were able to continue and grow this year was our Camp Victorious low-cost summer camp for youth 4th-8th grade. This was a blast! We went on field trips every week, learned about God and grew in faith, made lasting friendships, and partnered with other ministries and groups in the betterment of our community.
“Attending Family Fun Nights is a given for me and for my boys! These give us an opportunity to meet others’ families, to spend time together playing and praying, and to eat some delicious food! It amazes me the way that God finds a way to provide enough food, volunteers and fun activities for anyone and everyone who shows up!!” [April, MTC Parent (pictured left)]
Together with awesome volunteers, determined participants, and sponsoring businesses, we were able to host our 2nd Annual Light Up the Night free 5k fun run/walk/dog walk in Falls Park, where we circled our community in light and shared in the joy of God’s presence in nature and fellowship together. This event even almost tripled in impact this year from last year!
Throughout each of these initiatives we have had many opportunities to pray with youth and adults, witness people accepting Christ into their lives, and baptizing several young people! We are honored to walk with our community in their faith. God has allowed us to be a part of some pretty awesome moments in the lives of others!
Also in 2017, we were blessed with being honored by NineStar Connect Round-Up (pictured
right), Pendleton Lions Club, Sigma Phi Gamma philanthropy sorority, Open Hearts Open Purses, and the support of several community churches and businesses. We are honored and blessed to be coming alongside each of you in our mission field.
We love you all very much, and we pray you have an incredible & blessed year in 2018!
With Love 💕
